In terms of the Financial Advisors and Intermediary Services (FAIS) Act, all South African financial service advisors are required by law to obtain a license to practise from the Financial Services Board (FSB). The FSB ensures that these advisors have sufficient knowledge and are "fit-and-proper" to dispense advice. No advisor will be listed on this site who is not licensed. In some instances certain financial advisors are authorised to act as representatives or key individual s of the company they work for, in which case the company is the actual registered Financial Services Provider (FSP) License holder.
